John and Kathryn both attended Army Officer Training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona during the summer of 2019. John, being from Charleston, South Carolina, and Kathryn, being from Portland, Oregon, initially had no intentions on striking up a relationship. Once they got to know each other, they were able to relate on so many levels; they knew it was meant to be. John and Kathryn both work for the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. while continuing their military service in the United States Army National Guard. On Kathryn's first trip to Charleston, South Carolina in September 2019, John took her on a special date to Middleton Place- America's oldest landscaped gardens. There, he first said "I love you" and they were sure to take several trips back to Middleton on their numerous visits to the Charleston area. Their visit to Middleton Place on September 5, 2021, however, was no ordinary one. At the same site as the first "I love you" within the Parterre overlooking the Ashley River, John "popped" the question. Both in tears, Kathryn couldn't say "yes" fast enough! The engagement ring, eloquently created through Midtown Jewelers in Reston, Virginia, has significant sentimental value. The main diamond was given to John from his grandmother, Marina Provenzano, from the engagement ring given to her by her late husband. While COVID times have certainly been challenging for everyone, John and Kathryn have done everything to make the best of it. From the extra time being able to spend together to recovering from the virus itself, there have been many more ups than there were downs. Both of them are in the process of planning a date for the wedding ceremony as many venues are booking quickly through the end of 2022- another huge effect from pandemic-related event cancellations. John and Kathryn are, however, really enjoying the process and taking time to celebrate simply being engaged. Nick and I grew up attending the same school district and started dating in high school. Nick works in the hospitality field as an assistant general manager for meeting spaces in the DC area and I just finished getting my doctorate in physical therapy and will be starting my new job this fall. As you can imagine Covid has really changed our lives this past year between managing school from home, working from home, and the stressors of 2020. We had been planning a trip to Italy since 2019 as we had family moving there. Once Covid hit we patiently waited for a safer world. As numbers did start to decrease early this summer and Italy opened for USA travelers we were able to book our tickets and manage the new requirements with covid times traveling. Our engagement was perfect and the ring even more beautiful. As lovers of the outdoors, we took the most amazing hike ever in the Dolomites to the beautiful Lago di Sorapis where the rest is history. It was AH-MAZING.
From the very beginning, Sarah and Jason were destined for one another. What began with a couple of nice glasses of white burgundy on their first date quickly devolved into a dozen, well-sauced, late-night wings, exclusively eaten by her (Jason definitely knew she was the one!). From that point, Sarah and Jason were inseparable as they bounced from romantic dinner dates at DC's best restaurants to debaucherous trips to local watering holes for NFL Sunday football. The pattern of Sarah and Jason was established - two parts sugar, three parts spice. Soon (almost too soon) they were meeting each others' families. First, Sarah introduced Jason to her giant and raucous family on Thanksgiving and then Jason introduced Sarah to his small and quiet family of just two - his mom and his dad. Jason liked the free-wielding nature of Sarah's family and Sarah loved the quiet dinners filled with lots of good conversations with Jason's family. These early introductions set the stage for future adventures together - sledding on Jason's childhood hill outside of Boston and crazy, three-day wine tour of Napa capped off with a visit to a Space-X factory in LA (more on that below). Sugar and spice, once again. By this point, Sarah and Jason had started to talk about next steps. Sarah had assertively laid out some timelines and, because he loved her, Jason made sure to take good mental notes. Fast forward to a warm June morning at Cape Canaveral - 2:37 in the morning to be precise - and a Space-X rocket (one they had seen build in LA) was ascending into space, two booster stages were beginning to descend, and Sarah's eyes held fast to the gripping scene unfolding in the heavens above. Meanwhile, as Sarah's gaze was distracted, Jason - as planned - was down on one knee, with an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, princess cut diamond from Bobby at Midtown Jewelers. It was the perfect stone/setting for the perfect woman, as one can clearly see from the shocked look on Sarah's face! Thankfully for Jason, she did, in fact, say yes. And soon thereafter, Bobby and his wonderful wife Julie, were able to join Sarah and Jason on their post-engagement trip - this time to Alaska! The really nice scenic pictures are all thanks to Julie's skilled camerawork, but what is most amazing is that even against the raw and powerful beauty of the landscapes in Alaska, Sarah - and the ring from Midtown Jewelers - still continued to steal the show. Thanks again to both Bobby and Julie for all of your help navigating one of the most important purchases a couple will make and for your continued friendship. Looking forward to having you both at our second, post-COVID wedding - elephant and all. Sarah and Jason - Two parts sugar, three parts spice.
After meeting in college, we moved to Reston, Virginia. As we dated for 5 more years, we envisioned our life together and started to search for the perfect ring to solidify our commitment. We went to several generic stores but once we found Bobby, we knew Midtown Jewelers was it. We peppered Bobby with questions and went through many different ring styles and sizes. His patience never wavered. Even though Sahyli chose the ring she wanted, the engagement was a surprise. During sunrise pictures overlooking Bryce Canyon National Park at Sunrise Point in Utah, Grant suddenly got on one knee. As the sunlight beamed across the canyon, he poured out his heart and asked Sahyli to marry. She said yes! We got married one year later in Pepin, Wisconsin after moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota for school. We are so happy Midtown Jewelers became a part of our love story!
We went to St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands and stayed at the Carambola Beach Resort and Spa. We got engaged on the shores of Fort Christiansted in Christiansted, St. Croix. We spent a week there to celebrate our engagement and Madora turning 30. I hired a photographer to capture the moment and take engagement pictures afterwards. Everything was a surprise.
My husband and I are so grateful to Midtown Jewelers for my beautiful engagement ring and our wedding bands! I was over-the-moon on the day my husband proposed to me in front of my family and dear friends, but it was the beautiful engagement ring that took my breath away. Thank you Midtown Jewelers!!
Robb planned a trip to Washington, DC where he proposed on their scenic tour of the monuments. Robb proposed with a Danhov three stone ring. "Lynn was incredibly helpful in designing the perfect ring for my fiance. She walked me through the styles, metals, stone options, etc. very kindly and politely through the entire process. I was able to email about different concepts and price options, until we ultimately determined the right custom-style ring. I found the pricing was very agreeable, and Midtown Jewelers was even able to get the ring shipped out (we chose the stones in store), created based on 3-d blueprints, and delivered on pretty short notice before the holidays. I am incredibly grateful for their guidance and will happily recommend the store and Lynn to my friends.
David & Alissa shared a few of their wedding pictures from their special day. Photos were courtesy of Barbara O. Photography "Service was fantastic and my fiance absolutely loved the ring! Highly would recommend going here.
Kumail proposed to Maddie in Costa Rica amidst the beautiful scenery.
Mike spent a lot of time and preparation to pull off a romantic proposal. Megan was treated to a stay at a comfortable Bed & Breakfast and a delicious dinner in Annapolis, MD on the water. Mike proposed and Megan said yes!
"If you're a first-time diamond shopper like me, do yourself a favor and start at Midtown. Lynn was extremely helpful in simplifying the specifics you should consider when buying the perfect ring. I found just what I was looking for during my first visit and left happy and confident. You can absolutely trust these guys. 10/10 would recommend.
Ben included family in his surprise proposal to Katie and by the look on her face it was a big success! She received the beautiful Michael M diamond engagement ring that she had wished for.
When I decided to propose to my then-fiance I was overwhelmed in finding the perfect ring. After countless jewelry shops and online research, I landed at Midtown Jewelers and spoke to Lynn Ferguson. Lynn was so helpful and kind and didn't pressure me to buy anything. She helped save me money and showed me that I should buy with my eye and not on specs of a of diamond and took the time to show me the difference. Lynn turned a stressful process into a pleasant experience, and I would see Lynn again for future Jewelry purchase. I highly recommend Midtown Jewelers.
Nathan proposed to Kim on an island and they tied the knot in California.
A beautiful proposal which included family, sand, water, and ice cream!
Colin proposed to Aaren in the mountains amidst the beautiful colors of Fall. He also included their loving dog, Jake. "Lynn was tremendously helpful and guided me to the perfect ring at a price I was comfortable with. Not pushy whatsoever and made what could be a stressful process a piece of cake. Can't recommend her and Midtown enough!"
We were engaged in a rowboat on the lake of the beautiful Cypress Gardens, the same lake that was featured in the romantic movie, the Notebook. I knew I had to pick a beautifully scenery to match the stunning engagement ring Bobby helped me pick out. Thankfully, I didn't drop the ring in the water and my now fiance didn't tip the rowboat over from excitement.
"I love the little details on the halo of my ring. I fell in love with the simplicity of the design and know it was meant to be. It's hard to take your eyes off". -Sylvie bride, Emily Featured in Sylvie Brides LOVED OUR EXPERIENCE!! Lynn helped us to pick the perfect engagement ring and made the whole process a breeze. They even resized my ring for me in less than 24 hours because they knew how much I loved my ring and would miss it! They are so nice and helpful.
Lynn, your customer service, flexibility, and commitment to ensuring Carrie's ring exceeded her expectations was amazing. I'm convinced there isn't anyone better in the business and truly appreciate all of your help.
As a lifelong Northern Virginian, I knew I wanted to pick out the perfect engagement ring from a local jeweler and stay away from the mainstream competition. I came to Midtown Jewelers after reading about their fantastic reviews and due to their location in the heart of Reston. I had no idea what I was doing or where to begin. Vijay did an outstanding job helping me pick out the perfect engagement ring. I held onto the ring until the time was right. I finished my first semester of grad school in late December and Maddy and I were planning on going into DC to celebrate and grab dinner; I was also planning on proposing. The timing of the engagement grew even more perfect when Maddy got promoted that morning an even bigger reason to go out and celebrate! I told Maddy I wanted to go to the mall at night and see some of the monuments before dinner so when we got into the city we took a pedicab (I had the guy waiting at the restaurant for us) to the Lincoln Memorial. There was almost nobody there, probably because it was 25. Luckily, a random woman was walking out. I chased her down and asked if she could take a picture of my girlfriend and I, which she obliged. Handing her my phone, I then sternly told her, I'm also going to propose so be ready. After taking a normal picture, I wrapped my arm around Maddy, told her I love her and got down on a knee and proposed and she said yes! It was an amazing moment and I'm so glad Midtown Jewelers could be a part of it. Alex
Paul and Kendra met in 2010, while running a relay race together. Paul loved Kendra from the beginning, but it took Kendra a while to take a chance on him. When she finally did, she never looked back! They got engaged in September 2013 at the Washington Monument. Neither Paul nor Kendra enjoyed wedding planning, so they invited their parents and Paul's brother to a secret elopement on the rooftop terrace of the Kennedy Center, on March 27, 2014. Their elopement was simple, intimate and perfect, and they are so excited about their married life together!
Bobby and Alexandra, I have been meaning for weeks to send you an email letting you know that finally I actually presented the beautiful canary diamond ring to Katie and asked her to marry me. Actually, I did this on Valentine's Day evening (under a full moon). We then went out to a nice restaurant, and it turned out to be a really surreal, magical evening, the wonderful memories of which we will cherish and share down through the years. I'm attaching a picture that we had taken of us at the restaurant that evening. You will notice that Katie is proudly displaying the ring, which she was so happy at long last to have on her finger! Thanks again for your personal interest and your friendship through all of the excitement of purchasing the ring and planning for our future. We hope to see you again sometime when we are in your area. Sincerely, Nick Morgan
Thank you Bobby and all the staff at Midtown Jewelers for helping us find the perfect engagement ring and wedding bands! Matt and I had been looking for engagement rings for a while before we visited Midtown. Within a few minutes of looking at engagement rings in the shop, I found one I absolutely loved! Matt proposed a few months later while we were taking a walk in Colonial Williamsburg. We were married in Williamsburg, VA on July 6th, 2013. Christine & Matt
The day Scott planned to pop the question to Lis, nothing was going right. It was too cold and windy to propose by the 30 foot neighborhood Christmas tree, and all his attempts to convince her to go out to a fancy dinner were being turned down (she was tired from a 12 hour work day). So he decided, after taking their beagle for a walk, to just march inside, interrupt her folding laundry, and get down on one knee. He said, I can't wait any longer, will you marry me?? And she said, Yes! Now that it was time to celebrate, Scott said, Let's go out to eat! We could go get oysters, or go to that fancy French restaurant.? Then, he said jokingly, Or we could meet up with our friends who at your favorite Mexican restaurant down the street.? Even though he was joking, it really is Lis's favorite Mexican restaurant and on top of that she was excited to share the news of their engagement with their friends. So they went out for Mexican food and celebrated in style. Lis even showed off her new ring over a burrito. Lis and Scott
Midtown Jewelers was the perfect store for me to find everything I could have wanted related to my wedding. My now husband had consultations with them a few times to make sure it was the perfect diamond and setting for me. Bobby Singh and his team guided him through the process and made it as low stress as possible. Naturally after getting engaged in the Bahamas we returned to Midtown Jewelers for our wedding bands along with some special jewelry for the rehearsal dinner for both myself as well as presents for the wedding party. We even purchased beautiful gold plated red roses for our moms to remember the occasion by (Midtown has almost every color of rose you can imagine!). The entire staff is a pleasure, very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and always friendly. We return quite frequently to peruse the selection of beautiful jewelry, adding to my wish list but also expanding my collection. Walking in and having them know your name and small personal details helps make the experience of buying jewelry from Bobby and team so much more enjoyable.
In today's world we are often inundated with choices, with significant purchase decisions often linked to your true love in life, this fact has never been more true. I learned from others that Midtown Jewelers already had the reputation for exquisite jewelry, unique in every way, and of course priced right. Often that is enough for many of us to make a purchase there. However, I quickly learned that this comfortable environment offered me so much importantly more. What is very apparent at Midtown Jewelers is the passion that Bobby Singh and team exudes once you enter this wonderful establishment. Bobby's humble professionalism and talent for the right piece for specifically YOU the customer, is truly a breath fresh air. My beautiful wife and I had no indecision's once we experienced the Midtown difference. Our rings were perfect and I have often returned for other purchases and use of the terrific services this great store provides. The jewelry, the offering, the value, the people, and most importantly the satisfaction one gets shopping here, Midtown Jewelers thank you for being apart of our lives.
The plan was simple but it needed some development. Previously, I had bought the Sylvie solitaire ring with round diamond I discovered while we went ring shopping at Midtown Jewelers in Reston. Clarissa immediately fell in love with it. Two weeks later I bought the ring but I had no idea "how" or "where" I was going to propose to her. Our journey began on a stormy Friday evening, rushing to Charlottesville to meet our friends. They were already prefaced with the "plan." We made it through the storm and the plan was on schedule. The next morning we were dressed and ready to go to our destination, Crabtree Falls, just outside of Charlottesville to the southwest. The views of the waterfalls were breath-taking and the sound was invigorating. . I asked her "what would be her perfect engagement.? She replied, This! I laughed and we began to head down to a spot where I marked for the ring presentation. It was a bench right by the waterfalls where you able to enjoy a little bit of privacy. I asked her to sit on the bench, and told her I had a surprise. Immediately I could see the excitement in her eyes.
A beautiful day in our Nation's Capital just got even better. Joe decided to surprise his girlfriend Lauren over lunch at their favorite little down town bistro. What a wonderful sequence, just like the movies Congratulations to the happy couple from the Midtown Jewelers family.
Hi Bobby,First, thank you for all of your help(and Anya's) picking out the perfect ring for my now fiancee. The diamond was originally given to Amy's Grandmother by her Grandfather right before he went off to fight in World War II. They had a long happy marriage but her Grandmother has since past away. The original setting was a "simple platinum" setting and I feel the one we picked is perfect, matching the original setting quite well. Here are some shots of my proposal and immediately afterwords at Starbucks Coffee in Old Town Alexandria where we met on our first date. Thanks Again! We will certainly be an advocate for you store and look forward to visiting your store in the future.Best,Keegan Caldwell and Amy CordnerKeegan chose a Precision Set mounting for the beautiful family diamond with all the unforgettable memories that came with it. The mounting is a FlushFit 5mm tapered shank Couture band in Platinum.
